Mechanics like light streams, portals or advanced physics appear in the cold chambers of the Ice Temple. The valves are only like 10-15 ft underwater, you can get down and back up in ten seconds. Lol, I did that really early in the game, like level 5 or something. However, all further parts introduce exciting mechanics that make the gameplay even more attractive. It has been fairly useful to me though as I don't have to eat anything or change clothes to get into water.
